Essential Job Duties:
Well-site operations geologists will work at the drilling sites on a rotational basis. The job consists of coordinating all well-site geologic activities (including mudlogging, LWD and wireline logging, and directional drilling services) to meet the objectives of well plans. Well-site operations geologists work closely with drilling supervisors and with office-based operations geology staff. As part of the rotational assignment, some Muscat-based time will be included for training and performance of tasks including assisting in writing well proposals, coordinating field activities such as transmitting data to and from rigs, and preparing and presenting daily operations reports. New hires will receive six-month well-site operations training program.Major Duties/Tasks:
• Generate daily reports including drilling activities, lithologies encountered, hydrocarbon shows, and assignment of stratigraphic tops
• Quality check wireline and LWD logging, mudlogging and coring services
• Coordinate geologic services during key drilling activities such as selecting casing points, landing build-up sections, and geostearing lateral wells
• Prepare a final well report that contains a well summary with discussions of stratigraphy and shows

Required Qualifications:
•BS and/or MS in Geology
•Willing to work rotational assignments including nights and weekends
•Able to work at drilling sites and access drilling rigs

Additional Desired Qualifications:
•Previous experience including summer internships and/or well-site employment preferred but not required
•Microsoft office skills required; computer mapping skills preferred but not required
