Borouge Marketing - Innovation Centre Infrastructure Engineer
Borouge Pte Ltd is now seeking an outstanding individual for the post of Innovation Centre Infrastructure Engineer. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and reporting to Innovation Centre Manager.
Role Purpose:
Ascertain that the infrastructure of the Innovation Centre is safely, continuously and reliably working acc. to its intended purpose at a high quality level. Manage the warehouse, including a mechanical and electrical workshop, to serve its purpose according to defined KPIs. Co-ordinate and follow-up with contractors and other external parties as required
Contribution:
C1. Area or Responsibility:
• Oversees the proper operation of the infrastructure of the innovation centre, together with staff reporting to him
• Is responsible for safe, continuous and reliable operation of the IC at a high quality level
• Ascertains that the infrastructure is operated in a cost-, energy, and resource efficient manner (including water)
• Makes sure that the IC makes a professional, tidy impression in-line with the company philosophy to stakeholders and visitors
• Is capable, or has capable staff in place, to do ‘first hand’ failure analysis of most critical infrastructure components
• Makes sure that a properly trained Back-Up is available, when required
• Makes sure that a 24 hour on-call service is reliably available, when required
• Detect abnormalities in the operation of the infrastructure, analyses and takes corrective actions
• Define the areas of the IC, which requires to be manned by contractors and coordinate their activities
• Contribute to define scope of external contractors together with existing functions in Borouge
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plan for the critical elements of the infrastructure
• Make sure that SCADs (stock item creation, amendment and deletion) are defined for components which are critical for the reliable service of the infrastructure
• Make sure that the SCADs are implemented and thus the right number of relevant spares available
• Make sure that staff serving the infrastructure is adequately trained
• Define elements which allow continuous improvement of the operation of the IC infrastructure
• Takes responsibility for implementing safety measures and improvements according to the Borouge procedures and principles
• Makes sure that the workshops are reliably available at a high quality level, well staffed and staff trained
• Together with the warehouse staff, ascertains a safe material flow, where all elements are correctly detectable at all times
• Defines the housekeeping principles for the IC
• Makes sure that contracts are in place for safe supply and disposal of chemicals and consumables

• Has contact to the IC magt., IC staff, sub-ordinates, contractors and authorities
• Gives recommendations in a pro-active way in order to avoid problems and/or improve performance

• Has a very good understanding of the needs of the internal customer, i.e. the IC staff, and other stakeholders, e.g. the owner
• Gives training to internal customers in order to have relevant common understanding of the infrastructure

Skills:
S1. Education
• Graduate (BS or MS) as a Mechanical or electrical Engineer or in a related discipline
S2. Experience
• > 5 years relevant industrial experience
• Excellent knowledge in operating a special facility like a laboratory in the local environment
• Demonstrated successful experience in co-operation with relevant contractors in the industry
• Very good knowledge of the legal requirements and other demands as set forward by the authorities
• Demonstrated good relations with the relevant levels of authorities and other relevant parties in Abu Dhabi, at the appropriate hierarchical level
• Good communication (oral & written), presentation
• English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Preferably Arabic (reading, writing, speaking)
