The University of Bahrain is in process of offering a number of academic posts to suitable applicants at various levels (Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor). The University enjoys an excellent reputation in the Gulf region, operating under two campuses and includes Seven colleges: Business and Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Science, Arts, Education and Law in the following areas of specialization for the academic year 2008/2009:

College of Business Administration
a)Accounting Dept.:
+ Financial Accounting.
b)Economics & Finance Dept.:

College of Information Technology
a)Information Systems.
b)Computer Science.
c)Computer Engineering
+ Communication & ACM.

College of Engineering
a)Civil & Arch. Engineering Dept.:
+ Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Quantity Surveyor).
+ Architectural.
+ Interior Design Program (Master Degree & Above required).
b)Chemical Engineering Dept.:
+ Chemical Engineering.

Process Instrumentation and Control.
College of Science
a)Mathematics Dept.:
+ Mathematics.
b)Physics Dept.:
+ Laser Photonics.
+ Computational Condensed Matter Physics.

Recruitment Conditions:
- Applications with the specializations listed must be holders of a Ph.D. from a recognized University.
- The minimum qualification for the applied Linguistics TESL, TEFL and ESP in the College of Arts, the College of Education and the Department of Civil & Arch. Engineering is the Master Degree.
- Master Degree is required for the English Language Center.
- Applicants should have worked in a recognized University, and have experience in teaching and academic works (with not less than 5 years experience).
- Appointees may be required to teach lower level courses at undergraduate level in any specialization within the subject area.

The University of Bahrain offers the following benefits:
- The contract will be for two years, renewable.
- Suitable furnished accommodation will be provided.
- Free medical services within the State Health system for the appointee and dependant family.
- Return air tickets for the appointee, spouse and up to 2 dependant children under 18 years of age for travel TO and FROM Bahrain, including summer vacation.
- Half additional month's salary for each year completed at the University of Bahrain.
- Allowance for shipment of some academic personal effects.
- Salary will depend on the degree, academic post and experience

- Two recent photographs of the applicant.
- A photo copy of the passport for the applicant, his/her spouse and children.
- A photo copy of the applicants qualifications.
- Work experience certificates
- At least three recommendation letters (enclosed with the application)
- List of publications and research projects together with a copy of abstracts.
