Borouge - Application Marketing Manager

The Role
Responsible to maximize profit for a specific market, application or geographical area through innovation and new product development based on market needs. This would include marketing and commercial positioning of the products based on detailed understanding of customer’s perceived value of Borouge products and what the market competitors are offeringThe role will be based in Singapore and reporting to the Vice President Business Unit Film & Moulding

Contribution
C1. Area or Responsibility
Work closely with Business Unit Manager to define marketing strategy and seek inputs from other functions
Oversee the set up and roll out and implementation of the marketing strategy, monitor progress and take corrective actions when necessary
Provide inputs on Business Unit strategy for their application area
Define, prioritize and select market and customer opportunities through understanding of the value chain strengths and weakness of products and one’s competitive position
Run and maintain operational readiness of systems and processes to ensure products and service adhere to defined quality standards
Initiate development of differentiated products or product improvements based upon defined customer and market needs and work closely with relevant departments to develop products
Identify and propose improvements to systems and processes to achieve improved quality and efficiency
Prioritize, select and develop new opportunities
Manage assigned innovation projects in a project manager role
Identify patent opportunities
Define the marketing mix
Define and implement marketing communication initiatives
Secure long term business value through patenting and joint customer project contracts

Skills

S1. Education
University degree or MBA or post graduate qualifications in Marketing will be an advantage

S2. Experience
Minimum 5-8 Years of relevant work experience
Thorough understanding the structure and the factors that influence demand profitability and innovation
Detailed technical and commercial understanding of the products and their applications
Thorough strategic understanding of customers and other value chain members needs and the ability to match this with Borouge technical capabilities
Experience in working in export markets would be an advantage
Good knowledge of marketing sales management techniques
Excellent customer relationship skills
Good presentation and project management skills

S3. People
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
Effective coaching and feedback skills
Set direction, engage and inspire people
Strong leadership to align all functions towards complete customer focus, acting as a voice to the customer
Leadership for small operative groups
